General Information
Are you pretending to the world that everything is ok? But on the inside, you feel overwhelmed on a daily basis. Maybe even those closest to you have no idea how much you’re struggling. Anxiety can take on a personality of its own and overshadow who you really are.
Maybe you were always called the ‘quiet one’ or the ‘shy one’, or maybe you’re ‘the funny one’ or ‘loud one’ that could be your anxious part. But inside you know that’s your anxiety masking who you really are to the world.
Working together we can begin to let the grip of anxiety loosen and its power reduce.
*My own anxiety began as a child, although it took me years to understand what I was experiencing and then undertaking my training and my own therapy led me to learn new ways to reduce and let go of my anxiety.
Now I work with adults across Suffolk who want to make the change and let the anxiety go. I do that by helping you to reconnect with your emotions and how they feel in your body.
We look at what is happening for you currently and where that might have stemmed from. This is especially useful when traumatic events become locked in your body.
I work in a trauma informed way, it’s not always about having to recount your story to me that caused the trauma, we can work from the emotional responses, for some, that in itself can feel like a relief.
It’s never just anxiety, over time the toll it takes is low mood and episodes of depression. We will also look at how your relationships are impacted, perhaps you are always putting others before you. We can work to identify and change outdated patterns, and you can begin to discover the true version of yourself.
I believe therapy works best when it’s grounded in honesty and authenticity. I won’t hide behind jargon or distant professionalism – I aim to meet you as a real person, with warmth and integrity.
Being authentic as a therapist means I’ll be honest about what I notice, and when it feels right, challenge you. I’ll share my human reactions to support your process. I’m not a blank slate but someone who will genuinely care and engage with you.

Therapy Approaches and Suitability
Therapy can be beneficial for most people, but the approach and timing may vary depending on individual circumstances. If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, I encourage you to contact me for an initial conversation.
Online and Remote Therapy
Yes, I offer both in-person sessions and online sessions via Zoom. Online therapy can be a convenient and effective alternative if you are unable to attend in person. In person I work in Stowmarket, Suffolk, from my therapy room which is situated in my garden and accessed by my garden gate to provide more discretion for you.
Research suggests that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions for many issues. I will work with you to determine the best approach for your needs.
